Details

I feel like the last three weeks have been a crazy dream. I have taken in so much information about Alaska, its just overwhelming. I have learned that I have my own furnished apartment in Brevig. I am teaching 1/2 grade. I will be leaving at the end of July or early August and staying in Anchorage for a few days before flying to Brevig.

Contract Signed

It is the beginning of the adventure. I signed and faxed the contract today to Bering Strait, AK. Just one piece of paper, one signature and I am headed north.

Now, the work begins. Just to get to Alaska many things have to happen. The only way in is by plane, which means the only way to get my belongings up there is also by plane, via UPS. Instead of taking a car, I am thinking of buying a snow mobile- which would be awesome. There is also a lot of paperwork to get done before I leave. A physical examination, a complete application and a few more tests to be a teacher. Just a few more holes to jump through.

Besides the overwhelming list To Do list, I am very excited and can't believe that my dream of teaching in Alaska is literally here!
